Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: it must be produced and discharged and used in in order to exist at all.

I’m attempting to maintain a daily or near-daily log of things I am thankful for, as an effort to build a happier life.  I intend to add to this log each day and at the end of the year, or anytime in between now and then, if I need to remember something good that has happened, it will be here.  “I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” ~G.K. Chesterson
